The Keller-Fisher House in North Point Breeze was historically designated as a City of Pittsburgh Historic Structure in October of 2023. It is a very early example of Prairie architecture with a sweeping roof, terra cotta veranda, terrace, and horizontal lines that show balance without symmetry. Original interior features, including a central staircase, mahogany wainscoting, hardwood floors, and built-in furniture, have remained without alteration for over 120 years. The house has historic ties to George Westinghouse, electrical engineering, and the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair. It also contains a variety of examples of innovative electrical, natural gas, and communication technologies from the early 1900s, some of which remain operational.
